Royal Sundaram offers Car Shield, a comprehensive package policy which covers Loss or Damage to your car; Liability to third parties and provides personal accident cover to the Owner/Driver. Car Shield also comes with a host of discounts. Read on to know more about this:
 

1. Loss or Damage to your car:

 

This Car Insurance policy covers any loss or damage caused to the vehicle due to the following natural and manmade calamities:

• Accidental & External Damage
• Fire & Explosion
• Riot & Strike
• Malicious Act
• Burglary, housebreaking/ Theft
• Landslide
• Earthquake
• Storm and Flood
• Terrorism
   

What is not covered?

• Wear and tear, Depreciation or any consequential loss.
• Mechanical/ electrical breakdown.
• Damage caused by a person driving the car without a valid license.
• Damage caused by a person driving the car under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
• Other exclusions as per the policy terms and conditions.
   

2. Liability to Third Parties :

 

This policy covers any third party liability that might have been affected by the Insured. It includes the following coverages:
 

• Legal protection for death or injury claims from third parties.
• Legal protection for damage to third party property.
• Legal costs and Expenses.
   

What is not covered?

• Damage to your personal property.
• Costs and expenses incurred without our prior written consent.
• Other exclusions as per the policy terms and conditions.
   

3.Personal Accident Cover to Owner/Driver:

 

This insurance policy provides compulsory Personal Accident Cover to the owner/driver whilst driving the vehicle including mounting into/ dismounting from or traveling in the insured vehicle as a co-driver for Rs. 2 lakhs.
 

4. Get a Discount on Basic Coverage Premium:

 

You can get a discount on the basic coverage and/or choose from a range of additional covers and add-on covers to enhance your basic cover. Car Shield offers the following discounts on buying online:
 

• If you are a member of Automobile Association of India, you can get up to 5% discount on the Own Damage Premium (or) Max of Rs.200.
• Discount of Rs. 100 in Third Party Basic Premium on reduction in Limits of Liability for Third Party Property Damage.
• Opt for voluntary deductible of Rs. 15,000 and get 35% discount on Own Damage Premium subject to a maximum of Rs. 2,500.
